Fitting . . .
Towbars are a safety critical item and must only be fitted by competent persons. Prior to fitting, instructions should be read thoroughly and the contents of the box checked carefully. Remove any dirt or underseal from the towbar fixing points. If there is corrosion or accident damage consult your towbar specialist before fitting.
There will be variations from vehicle to vehicle so do not fully tighten the bolts until instructed and observe the correct torque settings. A chart showing these settings will be included on the fitting instruction sheet. Where spacing tubes are supplied these may need trimming to length.
Always ensure these tubes are just short. At all times fit shakeproof washers and check all nuts and bolts periodically. Drop plates must never be used as raising plates. Where a bumper cut is required guidance measurements are issued. However, due to model variations, some may need trimming to suit and therefore care must be taken.
